Employer |
An Employer is any individual, partnership, association, corporation, governmental entity, or other type of organization (including non-profits, religious organizations, and agricultural entities) which has in its employment one or more individuals performing services within its respective state (West Virginia and South Carolina). |
Employer Portal |
The Employer Portal is a Self-Service region of SUITS that Employers can access to perform various UI transactions. |
Agent |
An Agent is a third-party administrator who has an agreement with an Employer (client) to perform certain UI roles on behalf of the client. |
Client |
A client is an Employer who has an agreement with an Agent for the Agent to perform certain UI roles on behalf of the client. |
Account |
Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax account that has wages and contributions received on behalf of employees. |
Active Status |
Status which indicates the record is in effect as of the current date. |
End User or Internal User |
An actor performing work on a given work item. |
GUI |
Graphical User Interface. The way a website is designed so that each page is intuitive once you understand the framework. |
My Basket |
A central view of work items assigned to a user or work items completed or suspended by a user. |
Queue |
A container of workflow instances similar in nature. It is a placeholder for the work items that are waiting to be assigned and distributed to an end user. Each workflow activity has a separate container and can be assigned to one or more roles. Note: Although a user may have a role that has access to a queue, an administrator must assign the user to work the queue to activate the distribution of work. |
Role |
The responsibility to perform a specific action held by a particular user within SUITS. A role is assigned to a queue. |
Trigger |
An action occurring within SUITS that initiates a workflow process. An example is the receipt of a document that, when scanned and indexed, causes the system to initiate a pre-defined workflow process. |
Work Item |
A single unit of work. Each workflow activity instance displayed in a queue is called a work item. |
Work Pool |
The collection of work items assigned to a particular role. |
Workflow Activity |
Logical, incremental work step that, when combined with related activities, comprises an entire workflow process. Typically, each activity is performed by a different Role in SUITS. |
Workflow Process History |
A detailed listing of the sequence of activity statuses through which a work item has travelled. Whenever the status of an activity changes, a row showing the change is added to the history table. |
Workflow Process |
Sequence of logical steps (i.e. ‘Workflow Activities’) designed to produce a desired result. An example of a workflow process is ‘Verify 501(c)(3)’, ‘Enter Acquisition Data’, and ‘Approve Report Adjustment’. |
