Penalties and fines are extra charges that accrue on an Employer’s account for various reasons, such as fraud or late reporting. |
Suspended Payment |
A suspended payment is a UI payment that is temporarily held by the UI Agency because it cannot be allocated to an Employer’s account. Some reasons for suspense are administrative error, an unknown Employer account, a missing piece of information. |
Dishonored Payment |
A dishonored payment is a UI payment that the bank cannot withdraw from the Employer’s account. The reasons for a dishonored payment are a bad routing number or insufficient funds. |
Refund |
A refund is a transaction between the UI Agency and an Employer whereby an Employer requests that the credit balance on its account is returned to them. |
Recertification |
A recertification is a process whereby an Employer requests a letter to send to the IRS that certifies the amount of UI Tax paid in a calendar year. |
Transfer |
A transfer is an internal transaction where an Internal User transfers a UI payment from one Employer account to another. |
Redistribution |
A redistribution is an internal transaction where an Internal User redistributes all or part of a UI payment across one or more unpaid UI debts on the Employer’s account. |
