Purpose: The Employer Business Experience Transfer wizard initiates the process of transferring UI Tax information from an acquired business (predecessor) to an acquiring business (successor) as part of a purchase, merger, acquisition, or assumption by the successor of the predecessor. Either business can initiate the wizard through various entry points or triggers. These triggers include: Employer Registration, Business Transfer (including Change in Legal Entities) accessed through Account Maintenance within the Employer Self-Service Portal, or reinstating an employer account in the Staff Portal.
The employer with the designation of the acquiring business (successor) will need to fill in information about the predecessor account and provide a contact for the acquiring business. The employer designated as the acquired business (predecessor) will need to provide information about the successor and fill in contact information for the acquired business. Both businesses must go through the wizard before the experience transfer can be approved or denied by an internal user.
The various screens in this wizard are: Business Transfer Type, Successor Details or Predecessor Details, Successor Details Verification or Predecessor Details Verification, and Confirmation. The Successor Details and Acquisition Information screens have three tabs in the Additional Information panel on each screen. The three tabs are Transfer Types and Assets, Acquisition Details, and Contact Information. On the Successor Details Verification or Predecessor Details Verification screens an additional tab shows up called Acquisition Details.
