Protest

When a Protest Determination is Denied, does the Review Employer Protest workflow get assigned to the same person that originally worked on it?

No. This work item will go into the workpool.

Will Protests being processed in SCUBI be automatically updated in the protest record in SUITS?

No. As a Protest goes through different levels that are processed in SCUBI, DEW staff will need to go into the protest record in SUITS and manually update what level and stage it is at. Please see the View/Update Protest Record task in this handbook.

Why doesn’t the protest link appear on a document for an employer signed into the employer portal?

The two main reason that Protest link may not appear are:

•      The document has never been viewed. In order for the protest link to appear the employer must open the correspondence. Then the protest link will appear.

•      The allotted time has passed for the correspondence to be considered eligible for protest. Please see Appendix for full list on how long each item will display the protest link.

Note: The Protest link will remain available for DEW staff accessing the employer portal regardless of the document being viewed once prior, and will remain there without limit.  Meaning the above rules apply to employers signed into the Employer Portal.
