Purpose: The Rate Class Calculation Parameters Maintenance screen is the viewing screen for the tax rate records from the Rate Class Calculation Search. Each record for each rate year will have a link for the Rate Status. The Internal User clicks this Rate Status link to view the record, which opens the Rate Class Calculation Parameters Maintenance screen.
The various Rate Statuses are ‘Pending’, ‘Ready for Batch’, ‘In Review’, ‘Final’, and ‘Void’. The Rate Status of ‘Final’ indicates the record that has gone through the approval process for that tax year. Each year will only have one ‘Final’ rate class record. A Rate Status of ‘Pending’ is the only rate status that is still editable on this Rate Class Calculation Parameters Maintenance screen.
From ‘Pending’, the Internal User creating the new tax rates for the coming year will move the record to ‘Ready for Batch’, which moves the record into the queue to be processed in the batch job at night. A record can be changed from ‘Pending’ to ‘Ready for Batch’ as many times as needed to allow editing. To move forward in the process, it is required that the rate status be ‘Ready for Batch’ before the nightly batch jobs run. This batch job will change the rate status to ‘In Review’ where the tax rates can be approved. Once approved, the record’s rate status is changed to ‘Final’ by clicking the Finalize Annual Rating button.
