Background Information:

Process Name:

System generates Estimated Wages

Role:

System Process

Objective(s):

To identify and send correspondence to Employers/Agencies notifying them that they have a delinquent report (or reports) in terms of wage reports or payment submission and to create estimated wages if those reports continue to be past due.

Before you begin:

The delinquency remains on an employer’s account thirty days after the Notice of Delinquent Wage Report mailing date and the delinquent wage record(s) have not been submitted.

What happens next:

Wages are estimated for the delinquent quarters and new delinquent debt is created.

Notes

1.

No user actions exist for this process.

System runs the estimate wages batch.

2.

System identifies any unresolved debt regarding wage submissions.

3.

System calculates estimated wages by the following:

Identifies submitted wages reports for the employer in the previous 4 quarters and calculates the average taxable wages to use as an estimate.

If less than 4 quarters are present, SUITS uses the average taxable wages of the existing submitted quarterly reports.

If no quarters have been reported, SUITS uses the average quarterly earnings ($7,750) multiplied by the number of employers input during employer registration.

4.

System determines that the estimated total and taxable wages result in Total UI Tax due less than $100.00 and applies a minimum of tax due of $100.00.

5.

System then calculates the total and taxable wages from that formula and multiples it by double the UI Tax Rate for that employer.

6.

System initiates “Review Estimated Wages” workflow if required.
