Acquired Business ID

This is a hyperlink in each experience transfer record listed on the Experience Transfer History screen. Click the Acquired Business ID hyperlink to view the Experience Transfer Details.

Acquiring Business ID

This is a hyperlink in each experience transfer record listed on the Experience Transfer History screen. Click the Acquiring Business ID to view the Experience Transfer Details.

Begin SUTA Dumping Quarter/Year

Select current Quarter/Year.

Business Transfer

Business Transfer hyperlink is used to initiate an experience transfer between an acquired business and an acquiring business. Located in Employer Self-Service Portal under the Account Maintenance tab.

Business Transfer Type

This radio button selection menu is found in the Experience Transfer Maintenance: Business Transfer Type screen. Business Transfer types include:

      Assumed, acquired, purchased or merged business (successor),

      Business sold, acquired, merged, or assumed (predecessor),

      Change of Legal Entity.

 

Change in number of employees

Enter the change in number of employees for the quarter.

Change in number of employees (as a percentage)

Enter the percentage of change in number of employees for the quarter.

Change of Entity

This is a Reason for Inactivation found on Employer Inactivation Information screen in the Reason for Inactivation drop down. This reason for inactivation of an employer account is used with a business legal name is changed due to an acquisition transfer.

Change of Ownership

This is a Reason for Inactivation found on Employer Inactivation Information screen in the Reason for Inactivation drop down. This reason for inactivation of an employer account is used when a business is transferred to a new owner/operator, but the business name remains the same.

Date Acquisition became final

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Enter the date in MM/DD/YYYY format or use the calendar icon to select the date for the date the acquired business was merged or transferred to the new owner/operator.

Does the former owner/operator continue to have payroll or employees?

Question found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Select Yes or No by clicking the radio button.

Employer Account ID

Enter Employer Account ID or use search icon to find Employer by search criteria.

Employer Account ID of the acquiring business

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Enter the Employer Account ID of the new owner/operator’s business.

Employer’s UI Tax Rate(s) for the Year:

Required. Allowable values are: Null, <Current year>, and

<All other year(s) for which the employer has an active rate>. Default value is ‘Null’.

End SUTA Dumping Quarter/Year

Select employer’s last liability quarter/year.

Experience Transfer History

This hyperlink is found in the Employer Self-Service Portal: Account Maintenance. Click this hyperlink to view or reverse completed experience transfers.

FEIN for the acquired business

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquisition Information. Enter the FEIN of the acquired/purchased business.

FEIN for the acquiring business

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Enter the FEIN of the new owner/operator’s business.

FUTA Credit Reduction Avoidance

SUITS displays label and allows user to enter FUTA credit reduction avoidance amount.

Inactivate Employer Account

Hyperlink found at Employer Portal: Account Maintenance. This is used to inactivate an existing active employer account.

Manually Assign Rate

When selected, SUITS navigates to the Manually Assign Rate Maintenance wizard.

Maximum Tax Rate

Enter the maximum target quarter tax rate.

Minimum number of employees

Enter the minimum number of employees.

Minimum Tax Rate

Enter the minimum target quarter tax rate.

Name of the acquired business

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquisition Information. Enter the name of the acquired/purchased business.

Name of the acquiring business

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Enter the name of the new owner/operator’s business.

New Tax Class

Required and numeric. Allowable values are: Rate Class 1,

Rate Class 2, Rate Class 3, and so on up to Rate Class 20.

Notes

Enter notes regarding decision.

Percentage of business assumed/acquired

Field found on Experience Transfer Maintenance: Acquired By Information. Enter the percentage 1-100 of the former business acquired by the new owner/operator’s business.

Process Code/Reason:

Required. Allowable values are: Death or Illness, Natural Disaster, Non Fraud Oversight, or Other.

Process Name

Drop down menu found Staff Portal Workflows.

 

Rate Class

SUITS displays label and the rate group/class.

Rate Class Calculation Search

When selected, SUITS navigates to Rate Class Calculation Search.

Rate Details

Read only. Displays after ‘Year’ is selected from the drop-down and ‘Search’ is selected.

Rate Status

SUITS displays label and allows the user to select a value from the drop-down.

Rate Summary

Read only. Displays after ‘Year’ is selected from the drop-down and ‘Search’ is selected.

Rate Year

SUITS displays label and allows the user to select a value from the drop-down. The number of rows displayed is dependent on the year selected in the Rate Year drop down.  Depending on the year selected, the number of rows will vary based on the amount of a year’s worth of taxable wages and charges were used to calculate the rate. Examples—

      If 2013: 9 rows/years displayed

      If 2012: 8 rows/years displayed

      If 2011: 7 rows/years displayed

Reason for Inactivation

Drop down menu found on Employer Inactivation Information screen. There are several reasons for inactivation in this drop down menu. The two reasons applicable to process experience transfer are “Change of Ownership” or “Change of Entity”.

Reason for Reinstatement

This drop down menu is found on the Enter Additional Reinstatement Information screen. This is where Correction of Acquisition can be selected.

Reinstate Account

This hyperlink is found in the Employer Self-Service Portal: Account Maintenance screen. Click Reinstate Account hyperlink to reactivate an inactive account.

SDDS Match Details File

Click hyperlink to review employer data from SDDS.

Select File

Browse and open any necessary supporting documents.

Select the year to view the Rate Notice:

Required, numeric, allowable values are all rate years currently stored in SUITS for employer.

Status

Allowable values are: ‘Pending’, ‘Ready for Batch’, ‘In Review’, ‘Final’, or ‘Void’. If Rate Status is ‘Pending’, ‘Ready For Batch’, or ‘In Review’; the user is able to update the selection. If Rate Status is ‘Final’ or ‘Void’, drop down menu is grayed out.

Target Quarter

Select Target Quarter for report.

Target Year

Select Target Year for report.

Tax Rate

Read only, sortable, numeric. Displayed as a %. Any column header when clicked, should sort that column in the ascending order first, if clicked again it should be sorted in descending order

Total employer wages greater than

Enter the total wages greater than amount for the target quarter.

Upload

Upload supporting documents to the workflow item.
