Partially Register and Return to Complete a Registration

Objective(s):

      To save a partial registration for an Unemployment Insurance account using the Self-Service Portal.

      To complete a saved, partial registration.

Before you begin:

All Employers are required to register for Unemployment Insurance accounts when they start their business.

 

 (Employers may or may not be determined as liable to pay Unemployment Insurance tax; however, they must be registered with the agency. Certain Employers, such as independent contractors, are exempt from the registration requirement Exceptions are set by state code).

What happens next:

      At registration, SUITS:

Assigns an Employer ID.

Determines Liability Status, including Liability Effective Date and Experience (Tax) Rate.

Creates an Employer account in the Self-Service Portal.

      Generates a message in the Employer’s account:
“Employer Registration Successful”.

1. 

Click the Self-Service link.

SUITS displays the Portal Home screen.

The assumption is that Employers will access a URL link to get to the Claimant and Employer Portal Home. The screen has one button for Claimants and one button for Employers/Agents. Users click the appropriate button to access either the Claimant Portal or the Employer/Agent Portal.

Click the Employers & Agents button.

SUITS displays the Employers & Agents Welcome screen.

 

3. 

Click the Employers link in the Register for an Account box.

SUITS displays the Welcome to the State Employers Registration Portal screen.

The User can either select the Employer or Agent link. To register as an Employer, click the Employer link.

Read the instructions.

Make sure you have all the items/information needed to register.

Click the Next button.

SUITS displays Step 1 – Create an Account.

The User is guided through the Registration process with the help of a Registration Wizard. The screen displays breadcrumb bar on the top to mark the step the User is on and track progress.

Enter a User Name

Click the Validate button.

      If the User Name is available, SUITS will display Password fields.

 

      If the User Name is not available, SUITS will display an error message. Enter another User Name and press the Validate button to check availability again.

Enter a Password.

 

The Password must be at least 12 characters long, with one each of the following:

      Capital letter.

      Lowercase letter.

      Symbol.

      Number.

Confirm the Password.

Complete the Select Security Question panel.

 

Security Questions are used for System security purposes and to retrieve forgotten credentials.

Click Next.

SUITS validates the Password strength and that the Password entered matches the Password confirmed.

SUITS displays the Login Information screen.

      At this time, the User can log off and log back on to the Employer Portal because they have established a User Name and Password. SUITS will save the partial registration for 30 days.

 

      The User can log off at ANY time after they have established a User Name and Password.

Click the Print button.

Your computer displays the print window. Follow the prompts to print the screen.

Log off.
